So you have set the date, now comes the fun part. The wedding industry is overflowing with resources, but where do you start? As with most events, and even more so with your wedding, you want to make sure you have found the perfect services; the perfect cake, the perfect dress, and the perfect photographer!
There is no better way to see everything there is and more than by attending a Bridal Tradeshow. Tradeshows facilitate the giant task of exploring the industries’ vast array of services, by bringing them together in an informative and convenient fashion. Here are some essential tips for making the Bridal Tradeshow experience as beneficial as possible:
- When possible, register online & buy tickets in advance.
- Bring pre-printed address labels with you and extra pens. If you can, bring personalized labels, which include your name, telephone number and e-mail address – these will save you stacks of writing when entering the numerous draws for great prizes.
- Wear comfortable shoes. You will also be doing a lot of walking and standing around the displays, and sometimes only standing room will be available at the more popular fashion shows. Comfortable shoes will help you enjoy the day and the exhibits.
- Leave your warm coat at the door. Bridal fairs heat up with all of the excitement and energy in the room! In cool weather, you’ll find it easier to check your coat or leave it in the car. An added bonus is that you’ll have both hands free to carry information, taste irresistible samples and write down ideas if you need to.
- Bring a friend. You can always use help to carry the samples you collect and it’s nice to have a trusted confidant around to help you spot the things that will make your wedding even more memorable. Your family members can also make great company to share the fair with!
- If you bring a purse, remember to use the shoulder strap, keeping your hands free for examining and collecting samples.
- Grab a seat early for the fashion show as seating is first come, first serve. If possible, plan on attending one fashion show and staying through a second. This way, you can visit exhibitors when they are less busy and have more time to answer your questions.
- Ask the show co-coordinators about in/out privileges, as many shows let you come and go. For others, you must buy a ticket for a particular show and will have a limited time frame in which to see all the exhibitors.
- Enjoy yourself!
